MONEY MARKET INSTRUMENTS
Our Securities dealers license allows us to deal in securities issued by governments
and private sectors, in Jamaican Dollars and other currencies.
REPURCHASE AGREEMENTS (REPO)
We sell you a marketable security (usually a Government bond) and undertake to
later repurchase it from you at a predetermined date and price. The difference
between the two prices (i.e. selling & repurchase) creates the gain to
the investor and is quoted in percentage terms. Repos are available in JAD & USD
as well as GBP currencies. Repos are generally placed with tenures of 30, 90,
180 and 365 days and are considered extremely safe as they are collateralized
by risk-free Government securities. Repos are ideal for individuals and companies
who wish to accumulate funds for the short to medium term or who wish to receive
frequent investment income. For other corporate entities, the account also
allows for maximization of returns on short-term working capital funds.
Minimum investment - JAD100,000.00 OR USD10,000.00 OR GBP5,000.00
CERTIFICATE OF PARTICAPATION (COP)
This is an instrument which allows investors to purchase Government and corporate
bonds with a level of privacy and convenience than would otherwise obtain. The
investor will be the primary owner of the bond, which MF&G Asset Management
will purchase and hold in trust on his behalf. All interest and principal payments
from the issuer are collected by us for the benefit of the investor. This product
is suitable for investors who have a medium to long-term investment horizon and
also those who do not meet the investment requirements of the primary issuer.
GOVERNMENT ISSUES
As a licensed securities dealer, we can act on your behalf in acquiring securities
issued by the Government of Jamaica locally and overseas. We can also assist
you at settlement when the same securities mature.

- Local Registered Stocks
- Investment Debentures/Bonds
- US$ Indexed Bonds
- US$ Denominated Bonds
